Frequently Asked Questions
What does a physiotherapy treatment involve? An initial consultation involves our Physiotherapist asking you a few questions to learn more about your injury. Based on these findings, our physiotherapist will ask you to perform certain movements to further diagnose the source and cause of your problem. During the initial assessment there may also be some time for some hands-on treatment to relieve your pain. You will be given some home exercises and some advice on how to speed up your recovery.
What should I wear/ do I need to bring anything?
We advise you to wear some comfortable and loose fitting clothing. You should bring a pair of shorts with you if your injury is below the waist. There are changing facilities in the clinic where needed. If you have X-ray or MRI results please bring them with you so that we can take a copy with your permission.
How many sessions will I need?
This will all depend on the type, severity and duration of your injury. At the end of your initial visit our Physiotherapist will discuss with you the number of sessions that may be required to get you back to full function. Every person is different so healing times can vary, we will discuss your progress at each visit. It is always up to you if you’d like to continue with the treatment.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for Physiotherapy?
No, you can self refer to the clinic. We also take referrals from GPs and consultants.
Can I claim back on my health insurance?
Our Physiotherapists are all members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). Therefore our treatments are usually covered by all major health insurance providers e.g VHI, Aviva, Laya, Glo Health. Please check this with your insurance provider as coverage may vary depending on your plan.
When can I get an appointment?
Our physiotherapists have availability from as early as 7.30am to 9.30pm during the week and also on Saturday mornings to accommodate for all types of working schedules. We will get you an appointment as early as possible as early treatment means a speedier recovery.
How can I pay?
We accept cash and credit card payments at Physio Hub. Payment must be made after each appointment and receipts are always provided. We operate a payment in advance of treatment policy. Failure to pay in advance will result in the treatment not being performed and being rescheduled if appropriate.
What if I need to see a specialist or if I require surgery?
We have established close relationships with local GPs, Consultants and Specialists so we can arrange a referral if you need one or if we feel it is necessary. We will help you to decide the best course of action and advise you on possible outcomes etc. We can also advise you if you need a referral for X-ray, MRI, blood tests etc
